SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT

Guest at in-company event, speaking about AI

Most of the anxiety a team feels about AI isn’t really about the technology itself, it’s change management wearing an AI costume.

SCIENCE PARK OF ALICANTE, IN-COMPANY EVENT

Alicante speaker in company sobre IA Parque cientifico Alicante

Speaking about AI at an in-company event, Science Park of Alicante.

What We Discussed

AI beyond the hype

Separating what AI can realistically do for a business today from what is still marketing noise.

Practical first steps

Where a team should start experimenting with AI without needing a data science department.

Questions from the room

The concerns and use cases that came up most from the in-company audience.

Treat it as software, not an oracle

AI is designed, intentionally or not, to let you take the credit for its output and apologize for its mistakes. Treating it as an imperfect piece of software rather than an oracle changes how a team actually uses it day to day.

Skepticism isn’t the same as resistance

Questioning a hype cycle gets read as lacking vision, when it’s usually the opposite: a wide enough time horizon, backward and forward, to tell a genuine shift from a rebranded idea that already failed once before.

Just blind.

Why it matters for eCommerce teams

For fifteen years my work has focused on where eCommerce strategy meets conversion and emerging channels. Sessions like this one matter because AI is often sold to marketing teams as a shortcut, when it is really a multiplier: it amplifies whatever testing discipline, or lack of it, a team already has.

Speaking and lecturing at top Spain universities, business schools and international events.

My Take: Most AI Fear Inside Companies Is Really Fear of Change

When I talk to teams inside a company about AI, most of the anxiety in the room isn’t really about the technology itself, it’s change management wearing an AI costume. People have seen enough badly managed transformations to be skeptical by default.

The sessions that actually land are the ones that address that fear directly instead of pretending it isn’t there. Once a team feels like they’re being equipped rather than replaced, the conversation about AI gets a lot more productive.
